Drug InformationOrally, this supplement is used for Alzheimer's disease, senile memory problems and depression, cognitive problems due to alcoholism, Down syndrome, diabetic and peripheral neuropathies (diseases of the nervous system), and for facial paralysis.
Mechanism:
Acetyl-l-carnitine occurs naturally in the body, and works inside cells as a carrier of acetyl groups into an area of the cell called the mitochondria.
