Drug InformationAmino acids are the building blocks for protein, and are required for overall health maintenance. Of the 20 amino acids, eleven are made by the body itself, while the other nine (called essential amino acids) must come from the diet.
Mechanism:
Proteins are required for growth, repair, and maintenance of all body tissues. Amino acid supplementation is used in a wide variety of conditions, including Alzheimer's, angina, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, fibromyalgia, alcohol withdrawal, migraines, and rheumatoid arthritis

Amino acid supplementation should be only in consultation with a nutritionally orientated practitioner
Preganant:
No controlled studies have been done to document the safety of amino acid supplementation during pregnancy or lactation.

Dosage InformationIn general, adults require 45-65 grams of protein daily, with some high-performance athletes requiring more. Most Americans eat around 100 gm of protein daily, so supplementation is usually unnecessary. For treating specific conditions with individual amino acids, dosing should be determined by nutritionally oriented doctors.
Missed Dosage:
There is no missed dose information available. Consult with your doctor, pharmacist, or health care provider for additional information.
Storage:
Follow package directions for proper storage. Keep away from heat, moisture or light.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
