Side Effects

Excessive protein intake leads to increased nitrogen excreted as urea in urine, possibly causing reduction in kidney function in the elderly. Also, it is possible that excessive protein may increase excretion of calcium, leading to osteoporosis
Precautions:
Amino acid supplementation should be only in consultation with a nutritionally orientated practitioner
Preganant:
No controlled studies have been done to document the safety of amino acid supplementation during pregnancy or lactation.

Dosage Information

In general, adults require 45-65 grams of protein daily, with some high-performance athletes requiring more. Most Americans eat around 100 gm of protein daily, so supplementation is usually unnecessary. For treating specific conditions with individual amino acids, dosing should be determined by nutritionally oriented doctors.
Missed Dosage:
There is no missed dose information available. Consult with your doctor, pharmacist, or health care provider for additional information.
Storage:
Follow package directions for proper storage. Keep away from heat, moisture or light.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
