Drug InformationThis medicine is used for patients who have mild to moderate infections of the ears, nose, chest, skin, or bladder.
Mechanism:
The group of penicillin antibiotics work by blocking bacterial cell wall formation, resulting in bacteria that cannot survive or reproduce.
More Info:
Antibiotics may decrease the amount of "good" bacteria in your intestines needed for normal digestion. A supplement called Probiotic may be recommended. Talk to your pharmacist.

Precautions:
If you have ever experienced an allergic reaction to other penicillins or cephalosporins, talk to your doctor before taking this medication.
Preganant:
If you suspect that you may be pregnant, talk to you doctor. For nursing mothers, this medication is excreted in breast milk and may cause your infant to develop diarrhea, yeast infections, or an allergic reaction. Use caution and talk with your pediatrician.

Dosage InformationIt is recommended that this medicine be taken by mouth with food to avoid stomach upset.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
