Drug InformationFree radicals are highly reactive and unstable compounds that are created by the body or are present in the environment. They react with certain cells in the body and interfere with their ability to function normally.
Mechanism:
Antioxidants may work in several ways: reduce the energy of the free radical, block the formation of the free radical in the first place, or interrupt an oxidizing reaction, minimizing damage by the free radicals.
