Drug Information

This medicine is an anti-inflammatory agent. This medicine works by reducing the inflammation inside the bowel and pain associated with ulcerative colitis and helps to prevent recurring inflammation.

Side Effects

Common side effects include: headache, stomach pain or cramps, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
Precautions:
Before taking this medicine, notify your health care provider if you have any history of: kidney disease, liver disease, allergic reaction to this medicine or other medicines, foods or dyes or preservatives
Preganant:
Talk to your doctor about using this medicine during pregnancy or nursing to discuss any possible risks to you or your baby. For nursing mothers, this medicine is excreted in breast milk. DO NOT breast feed while taking this medicine.

Dosage Information

Take this medicine tablet by mouth with a full 8 ounces of water. Take your dose at the same time each day or as directed by your health care provider.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
