Drug InformationThis medicine is used to patients with asthma. This medicine is also used to PREVENT asthma attacks. It will not stop an asthma attack that has already started. The nasal aerosol is used for seasonal allergies or to prevent nasal polyps after surgery. Your doctor may use this medicine to treat other conditions as well.
Mechanism:
This medicine works by decreasing inflammation (swelling) in the lungs or nasal passages.

Side EffectsSide effects reported with the use of this medicine include: headache, dry mouth, hoarseness, irritated throat
Precautions:
Do NOT lower the dose of any of your asthma medicines unless you are told to do so by your doctor.
Preganant:
If you are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of using this medicine during your pregnancy. It is not know whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Talk to your doctor to discuss risks to your baby.

Dosage InformationFollow your doctors instructions for taking this medicine. This medicine comes in different forms. Make sure the canister is properly seated into the inhaler and shake well before using. For use orally, slowly exhale. Place the inhaler about 1 to 2 inches away from your lips. As you start a slow, deep breath, press down on the top of the canister to expel the medicine into your lungs. Hold your breath for as long as comfortable (10 seconds) and slowly exhale through pursed lips. If your doctor has instructed you to take more that one inhalation, wait at least one minute and repeat the process. Rinse your mouth with water after each use. Nasal aerosol should be shaken and sprayed into each nostril as directed. Read the leaflet provided on how to clean your inhaler unit or talk to your pharmacist.
Missed Dosage:
If you miss a dose, take your dose as soon as you remember and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
