Drug Information

This medicine is used for patients who need quick relief from mild to moderate pain. This medicine may be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
Mechanism:
This medicine binds to opiate receptors in the central nervous system (CNS) and decreases pain perception.

Side Effects

The most common side effects with this medicine include: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation
Precautions:
This medicine should be used with caution by patients with a known allergy to morphine, codeine, or acetaminophen products.
Preganant:
For women, use during pregnancy should only occur if the potential benefits outweigh the possible risk to the fetus. As with all medication during pregnancy and nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Dosage Information

Generally, adult doses are given in the hospital or clinic. Doses are given based on the severity of pain. It is important to follow your doctor’s or nurse's instructions.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
