Side EffectsThis medicine can cause side effects such as: stomach upset, dry mouth, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, change in taste
Precautions:
Do NOT abruptly stop this medicine without talking to your doctor.
Preganant:
Discuss the risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. DO NOT breast-feed while taking this medicine until you have talked to your doctor or pediatrician.

Dosage InformationFollow your doctor's instructions for taking this medicine. Levodopa can be taken with food or a snack, to minimize stomach upset. As your body becomes used to the medicine, it should be taken on an empty stomach. Talk to your doctor about the best time of day to take the medicine. For patients taking the extended-release forms, swallow the tablet whole, do NOT CRUSH or CHEW. You may break the tablet in half if the whole pill is too large for you to take.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
