Drug Information

For the treatment of high blood pressure and chest pain (angina pectoris). This medicine may also be prescribed to patients following a heart attack. Your doctor may use this medicine to treat other conditions as well.
Mechanism:
This medicine blocks the action of a chemical that causes constriction of blood vessels and stimulation of heart muscle.

This medicine can deplete your body of Co-Enzyme Q-10 leading some doctors to supplement Co-Q 10 to the diet.

Side Effects

Some of the more common side effects with this medicine may include: dizziness, tiredness, lightheadedness
Precautions:
Do NOT stop taking this medicine without first talking to your doctor. Stopping this medicine abruptly can cause complications, especially in patients with coronary artery disease.
Preganant:
This medicine should not be used if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. This medicine can cause harm to your fetus. For breast-feeding mothers, check with your doctor to discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Dosage Information

Follow the directions for taking this medicine provided by your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is taken by mouth and may be taken with or without food. Take each tablet about the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
