Drug Information

This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine for other condtions as well.
Mechanism:
This medicine dilates (widens) blood vessels. This action decrease blood pressure causing less pressure on the heart muscle.

Side Effects

This medicine may cause the following side effects: slow hearbeat, diarrhea, tiredness, weakness, dizziness lightheadedness
Precautions:
Do NOT abruptly stop this medicine without talking to your doctor.
Preganant:
This medicine has not been tested in pregnant women. Talk to your doctor about using this medicine if you are or plan to become pregnant. For nursing mothers, it is not know whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Before breast-feeding, talk to your doctor or pediatrician.

Dosage Information

Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. You should take this medicine with food or following a meal with a glass of water. This medicine comes in in 3.125 MG, 6.25 MG, 12.5 MG and 25 MG tablets. Your doctor will decide which dose is right for your. Take this medicine about the same time each day and do not miss doses.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
