Drug InformationThis medicine is used to treat coughing, runny nose, congestion and sneezing due to colds or allergies. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions by your doctor.
Mechanism:
Antihistamines stop itching, runny nose and sneezing by blocking the effects of histamine. Cough suppressants block the cough response.

Side EffectsEvery medicine can cause some unwanted side effects. Although serious side effects rarely occur with this medicine if taken as directed, side effects may increase if: too much of the medicine is taken, if the medicine is taken in large amounts, if the medicine is taken for long periods of time

If your condition does not improve within 7 days, see your doctor.
Preganant:
Talk to your doctor about using this medicine during pregnancy or nursing to discuss any possible risks to you or your baby.

Dosage InformationFor proper use of this medicine, follow the directions on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor. Long acting forms of this medicine should not be crushed or chewed. Liquid suspensions should be shaken well before each dose.
Missed Dosage:
If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
