Drug Information

Side Effects

A few of the most common side effects with this medicine include: redness, dryness, peeling, stinging
Precautions:
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have had an allergy to this medicine in the past.
Preganant:
Studies on effects in pregnancy have not been done in either humans or animals. However, benzoyl peroxide may be absorbed through the skin. It is not known whether it passes into the breast milk. However, this medicine has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies. Talk to your doctor for more information.

Dosage Information

Before applying, wash the affected area with a nonmedicated soap and water or with a mild cleanser and then gently pat dry with a towel. Apply enough medicine to cover the affected areas, and rub in gently. Wash your hands after using this medicine.
Missed Dosage:
If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
