Drug Information

This medicine is used for treating panic disorder. It is also used to prevent certain types of seizures. For use in epilepsy, this drug may be used alone or in combination with other drugs. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine for other conditions as well.
Mechanism:
Clonazepam works by slowing down nerve impulses from the brain (motor cortex).

Side Effects

drowsiness and clumsiness
Precautions:
Do NOT stop taking this medicine without first talking to your doctor.
Preganant:
If you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant avoid this medicine during the first 3 months if possible. Talk to your doctor about the benefits versus the risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. Avoid using this medicine if you are nursing or considering breast-feeding. Presence of this medicine has been found in breast milk.

Dosage Information

Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not miss doses. This medicine can be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
