Drug InformationThis medicine is used to reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in patients with atherosclerosis. Your doctor may use this medicine for other conditions as well.
Mechanism:
This medicine inhibits the clumping of platelets by blocking a chemical called ADP.

Side EffectsSide effects that you may experience with this medicine include diarrhea or indigestion.
Precautions:
Do NOT take this medicine with aspirin unless you have been told to do so by your doctor.
Preganant:
It is unknown whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. It is advised not to breast feed while taking this medicine.

Dosage InformationFollow the directions given to you by your doctor. This medicine is taken orally and may be taken on an empty stomach or with food.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
