Mechanism:
This medicine absorbs and combines with bile acids, which increases removal of bad cholesterol from the body by way of the stool.

Side EffectsThe most common side effects with this medicine include: stomach upset, constipation, heartburn or indigestion
Precautions:
This medicine is used th help reduce your cholesterol level. It is NOT a cure. DO NOT stop taking this medicine, without your health care providers advice.
Preganant:
Talk to your doctor about using this medicine during pregnancy or nursing to discuss any possible risks to you or your baby. For nursing mothers, this medicine is excreted in breast milk. DO NOT breast feed while taking this medicine.

Dosage InformationTake this medicine by mouth and follow the directions your health care provider gives to you. Take the tablets with a liquid and a meal. Do not cut, crush or chew and take each tablet with a drink of water. Drink at least 4 ounces of water with each dose. Take ONLY as directed. DO NOT take your medicine more often than prescribed.
Missed Dosage:
Follow dosing instructions as directed by your health care provider If you take this medicine twice a day and miss your first dose, you can take the total daily dose with next meal. If you miss an entire days dose, DO NOT double or take extra on your next dose. Take ONLY your normal dose for that day.
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Protect from moisture. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
