Drug Information

This medicine is used in the treatment of bronchial asthma, nasal congestion. Your doctor may use this medicine to treat other conditions as well.
Mechanism:
This medicine stimulates the release of epinephrine from the tissues. Epinephrine relaxes the smooth muscle around the bronchial tubes allowing for easier breathing.

Side Effects

Cardiovascular; Increase or decrease in blood pressure, chest pain, tachycardia (fast heart beat), arrhythmias (irregular heart beat).
Precautions:
Long term use of this drug may cause anxiety and paranoid symptoms. Should not be taken by patients with heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, prostate enlargement, or with hypertension.
Preganant:
If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine to discuss risks and benefits. Do NOT breast feed while taking this medicine.

Dosage Information

Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. Avoid taking this medicine too close to bedtime to avoid trouble sleeping. This medicine is taken orally and may be taken with food. Avoid large amounts of caffeine when taking this medicine.
Missed Dosage:
If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
