Drug InformationThis medicine is used along with a proper diet to control high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood.
Mechanism:
This medicine lowers triglycerides in the body by blocking the formation. This causes lower amounts of triglycerides in the bloodstream. This in turn can lower the risk of "fats" lining the arteries.

Side EffectsThis medicine like any medicine can cause side effects. Side effects reported with this medicine include the following: stomach pain, nausea, constipation, gas, headache, dizziness
Precautions:
Do NOT drive or perform other potentially dangerous activities until you get a feel for how the medicine affects you.
Preganant:
There are no well-controlled studies of fenofibrate in pregnant women. Talk to your doctor about the benefits versus the risks of using this medicine during your pregnancy. Fenofibrate SHOULD NOT be used by mothers who are nursing. Mother should make a decision on whether to stop the discontinue the drug or stop nursing.

Dosage InformationFollow the your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions on how to take this medicine. It is recommended that this medicine be taken with or following a meal or a snack. Take with a full glass of water. This medicine should be taken every day about the same time each day.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
