Drug Information

This medicine is an antihistamine used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (allergies) and seasonal hay fever.
Mechanism:
This medicine blocks histamine, which eases symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.

Side Effects

The side affects with this medicine are rare and may include: dry mouth, drowsiness
Precautions:
Do NOT take this medicine with orange, apple or grapefruit juice. The levels of this medicine in your blood may be decreased by 70%.
Preganant:
If you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant talk to your doctor about the benefits versus the risk of taking this medicine during pregnancy. If you plan to breast-feed, talk to your doctor about possible risks to your baby.

Dosage Information

Follow the directions provided to you by your doctor. This medicine is taken orally and can be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
