Drug Information

This medicine is for the oral treatment of type 2 diabetes. Control of this type of diabetes is usually accomplished with a combination of diet and exercise.

This drug works by increasing the amount of insulin and allowing the tissues to better utilize insulin.

Side Effects

The side effect of this medicine might lead to weight gain.

Preganant:
Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant. During pregnancy blood sugar levels are uncontrollable and are associated with birth defects and many doctors recommend insulin to be used during pregnancy. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using this drug.

Dosage Information

This medicine should be taken orally, 30 or 40 minutes before a meal. It is known to cause some stomach upset if taken with food. It is important to maintain a regular eating schedule while taking this medication.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
