Drug Information

Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen is a combination narcotic and is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain.
Mechanism:
This medicine works by decreasing pain perception and reducing cough reflex sensitivity.

Side Effects

nausea, vomiting
Precautions:
If you have had a severe allergy to codeine, hydrocodone or oxycodone, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication.
Preganant:
If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the risks versus benefits to your pregnancy. It is not known whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are breast-feeding or plan to breast feed, check with your doctor about risks to your baby.

Dosage Information

Follow the directions that your doctor has given you; these are printed on your prescription bottle. It is advised to take this medicine with food, to avoid upset stomach. Drink plenty of water with this medicine to avoid constipation.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
