Drug InformationThis medicine is used for patients who have inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and mild to moderate pain. It can also be used for fever, gout, or acute migraine headaches. This medicine may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Mechanism:
This group of medicines reduces pain and inflammation by blocking prostaglandin.

Side EffectsSome common side effects reported with this medicine include: stomach upset, diarrhea, indigestion
Precautions:
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of: aspirin or NSAID induced asthma, peptic ulcer disease, congestive heart failure, kidney disease
Preganant:
For women, this medicine should NOT be used during the third trimester of pregnancy. If you suspect that you may be pregnant, talk to you doctor before using this medication. For nursing mothers, ibuprofen is considered safe to use while breast-feeding.

Dosage InformationTake this medicine orally with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. Ibuprofen is generally taken every 6 hours. Doses may vary depending on condition.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center. Symptoms of overdose include: stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, feeling tired, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), confusion, headache and blurred vision.
