Side EffectsMost frequent are: abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Precautions:
Iron may worsen peptic ulcer disease, ulcerative colitis, and regional enteritis. It should be avoided with these conditions.
Preganant:
Iron is considered safe for use during pregnancy, in doses below the upper intake level of 45 mg of elemental iron daily.
