Drug Information

This is a combination medicine is used to treat high blood pressure.
Mechanism:
This medicine blocks the effects of a chemical in your body(angiotensin) that causes narrowing of blood vessels and stimulation of heart muscle. Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is a diuretic (water pill) and is believed to lower blood pressure by reducing excess fluid and sodium.

Side Effects

Precautions:
Talk to your doctor if you have a history of kidney or liver disease.
Preganant:
If you suspect that you may be pregnant, talk to your doctor, since this drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy. For nursing mothers, it is unknown whether losartan is excreted in the breast milk, but thiazide diuretics may appear in breast milk. Discuss with your doctor possible risks to your baby while taking this medicine.

Dosage Information

Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. This medicine is taken orally normally once daily. Take this medicine regularly.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
