Drug InformationThis combination drug is used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your blood.

Lovastatin works by blocking cholesterol production in the liver.

Side EffectsSide effects that may occur while taking this medicine include: nausea, constipation, diarrhea, headache, flushing, stomach upset
Precautions:
It may take several weeks for this medicine to work.
Preganant:
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant. For nursing mothers, this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Do NOT breast-feed while taking this medicine.

Dosage InformationTake this medicine as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is taken orally once daily at bedtime with a low-fat snack. Do not crush, break or chew tablet before swallowing. Do not take this medicine with grapefruit juice or hot drinks. Taking an enteric coated aspirin 30 minutes before taking this medicine can reduce the flushing reaction.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
