Drug InformationThis medicine is used for patients who have inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and mild to moderate pain from an injury. It can also be used for fever, gout, or migraine headaches. This medicine may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Mechanism:
This medicine reduces pain and inflammation by reducing levels of prostaglandins, a substance produced by the body.

Side EffectsSome common side effects reported with this medicine include: nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, dizziness
Precautions:
Notify your doctor if you experience persistent stomach pain or vomitus that looks like coffee grounds.
Preganant:
For women, this medicine should not be used during the third trimester of pregnancy. If you suspect that you may be pregnant, talk to you doctor before using this medication. For nursing mothers, ibuprofen is considered safe to use while breast-feeding.

Dosage InformationTake this medicine as directed by your physician. Naproxen Sodium is taken orally and can be taken with food if stomach upset occurs. Dosage varies depending on the condition it is used for. Do not break, crush or chew extended-release forms.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center. Symptoms of overdose include: stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, feeling tired, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), confusion, headache and blurred vision.
