Drug InformationPABA has been used in the following conditions; dermatomytositis, female infertility, pemphigus, Peyronie's disease, scleroderma, and vitiligo.
Mechanism:
The exact way PABA works is unknown, however, PABA has been reported to increase the effects of cortisone and may prevent or possibly reverse accumulation of abnormal fibrous tissue.

Side EffectsNo serious side effects have been reported with 300-400 mg per day.
Precautions:
Herbs and supplements alone should NOT be substituted for a well-balanced diet.
Preganant:
If you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking supplements. It is not known whether PABA is excreted in human breast milk. Do not breast-feed until you have talked to your doctor first.
