Drug Information

This medicine is used to lower blood pressure, and may also be used in patients with heart failure. Quinapril may be used in other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Mechanism:
This medicine works by blocking a chemical that causes blood vessels to constrict, resulting in lower blood pressure.

Side Effects

Some of the most common side effects with this medicine include: headache, dizziness, low blood pressure, fatigue, cough
Precautions:
This medicine may increase your chance of sunburn. Use a sunscreen and protective clothing when out in the sun.
Preganant:
This medicine should not be used during pregnancy due to the possibility of fetal damage. Though this medicine is not believed to be excreted in breast milk in large quantities, you should talk to your doctor if you are, or plan to breast-feed.

Dosage Information

Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Quinapril is taken orally, generally once daily. It can be taken with or without food and should be taken about the same time every day.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
