Drug InformationPeople use shark cartilage for preventing and treating cancer, diabetic retinopathy, enteritis, psoriasis, arthritis, wound healing. Topically, shark cartilage is used for arthritis. Shark cartilage may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Mechanism:
Early research suggests that shark cartilage might have antimutagneic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain relieving) properties.

Side EffectsWhen taken orally, people have experienced: nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness
Precautions:
If you have hypercalcemia (high amounts of calcium in the blood), talk to your doctor before taking shark cartilage. Shark cartilage has been know to increase calcium levels.
Preganant:
If you are pregnant or nursing, talk to your doctor before taking shark cartilage.
