Drug InformationThis medicine is used for those who have high blood pressure, and is also used for treatment of enlarged prostate gland.
Mechanism:
It blocks chemicals that cause your blood vessels to narrow. The result is relaxation of both arterioles and veins, lowering blood pressure.

Precautions:
Patients taking this drug should be aware that there is a possibility of weight gain while taking terazosin.
Preganant:
If you suspect that you may be pregnant, talk to your doctor, since it is recommended that this drug be used with caution during pregnancy, weighing benefits against possible risks. For nursing mothers, it is unknown whether terazosin is excreted in the breast milk. Discuss with your doctor possible risks to your baby while taking this medicine.

Dosage InformationTake the medicine as prescribed regularly and continuously. This medicine can be taken with or without food.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.
