Drug InformationThis medicine is given by injection to cause loss of feeling before and during surgery, during labor and delivery and dental procedures.

This medicine works by blocking pain sensation through the nerves.

Side EffectsCheck with your doctor or dentist immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: difficulty breathing, chest pain, rapid heart beat, unusual bleeding, nausea or vomiting
Precautions:
Tell your doctor, nurse or dentist if you have ever had an unusual reaction to a local anesthetic.
Preganant:
Local Anesthetics have NOT been reported to cause birth defects in humans. Before receiving a local anesthetic for delivery of your baby, talk to your doctor about the benefits of using the medicine and the risks. For breast-feeding mothers, it is not know whether local anesthetics pass into the breast milk. Before breast-feeding, talk to your doctor or pediatrician for more information.
