Drug Information

Topical antibiotics are used to treat or prevent minor skin infections caused by cuts or scraps. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.

Topical antibiotics work by killing bacteria and allowing for would healing.

Side Effects

Although side effects with this medicine are not common, they may occur. Tell your doctor if any of the following symptoms are severe or do not go away: redness, burning, swelling or blistering of the skin, itching, rash
Precautions:
Do NOT use this medicine in the eyes.
Preganant:
This medicine is generally considered safe, however we advise you to talk to your doctor before about using this medicine during pregnancy or nursing.

Dosage Information

For proper use of this medicine, follow the directions on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor. First wash your hands. Next, rub the cream or ointment evenly onto the affected area(s). You may cover the wound with a sterile bandage if desired.
Missed Dosage:
If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
