Drug InformationThis medicine is used to treat vitamin E deficiency. Signs of low levels of vitamin E include; dry skin & hair, easy bruising, PMS, hot flashes, eczema, psoriasis, cataracts, poor wound healing, muscle weakness and BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
Mechanism:
Vitamin E is actually of group of eight compounds. Alpha tocopherol is the most common. Vitamin E is considered an anti-oxidant which means it repairs to the blood and tissues. Vitamin E protects the eyes against cataracts. It also boosts our immune system and reduces the risk of heart disease.

Dosage InformationFor proper use of this medicine, follow the directions on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor. Swallow capsules whole, do not crush or chew.
Missed Dosage:
If your doctor has instructed you to take this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take your next dose, as soon as you remember. If you are close to your next dose, do not double up. Skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center. Vitamin E toxicity appears as blurred vision, diarrhea, dizziness, flu-like symptoms, nausea, headaches.
