Drug Information

This medicine is used for patients who need relief from mild to moderate pain. This medicine may be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
Mechanism:
Opioid analgesics work in the central nervous system (CNS) to relieve pain.

Side Effects

This medicine is generally well-tolerated, however side effects may occur. Talk to your doctor if any of the following side effects become bothersome: drowsiness, dizziness, stomach upset, confusion, constipation, dry mouth, increase in bowel movements, loose stools, nausea, muscle pain or weakness, soft stools, trouble sleeping, vomiting
Precautions:
Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to tramadol, opioid analgesics or acetaminophen.
Preganant:
Tramadol and acetaminophen has not been studied in pregnant women, however, studies in animals have shown that this medicine causes birth defects and other problems. If you are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor about using this medicine during your pregnancy. This medicine may pass into the breast milk and cause unwanted side effects in nursing babies. Do NOT take this medicine while you are breastfeeding unless you have talked to your doctor first.

Dosage Information

It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions. Take this medicine by mouth with food or milk to avoid stomach upset.
Missed Dosage:
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Overdose:
Seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Symptoms of overdose include; chest pain or discomfort, convulsions (seizures), difficulty breathing.
